As far as the "locked" mode, I'm pretty sure that it refers to the ability to
have the transfer case operate in a locked manner, that is, power is sent
equally to the front and rear driveshafts, as opposed to having it operate
like an open differential, sending power to the wheels that slip. Hopefully,
this makes sense.
