I read that this should not be done with this type of plug. As a matter of
fact, it emphasized that the ground electrode should be parallel to the
end of the firing electrode. I can't remember the exact reason that was
given but it may have been that it ensures that a strong spark gets to
where it suppose to go...may also be an issue of possible clearance
problems(?).
