Thanks,

I'm starting to get the feeling that my "friends" are a little more
jealous of my truck than I originally thought. For years they had the
nice trucks, and now there is a new kid on the block!

The optional limited slip differential is a real LSD. You're
being led
astray by your buddies and even if it weren't, that
brake/throttle
thing is a bunch of hooey. All factory limited slips allow a
certain
amount of differential action. Once it passes a preset amount,
it
limits the difference between axles. Some heavy duty aftermarket
units
start out locked and then allow some slippage or ratcheting in
corners. For all out racing there are units that are locked all
the
        time.
The "lockers" offer no traction advantage over the stocker.
However,
the stocker's ability to "lock-up" degrades over time depending
on
        the severity of usage.
*IF* you wear out the stocker(I never have) *THEN* consider an
        upgrade.
