My TSB ignorance.

Well. With my dakota running 17 degrees of advance and dying when i stop at
a stop light.. I took my dakota to the dealer to ask some questions not
knowing ditty about how crappy of service i got. (will hit 2 points)

1) I bought 235/60/15s instead of 235/70/15s so i could lower the gear ration
(numerically higher) to 3.80s instead of 3.55s. Done and done.
Dml tells me i can buy a speedo recalibration gear so i ask the parts guy
(first visit) after raising an attitude because i wanted to purchase a part,
I told him that I really liked this dealership and the other dealership's
parts warehouse is just about 3 miles away and i'd gladly buy over there, but
i'd rather see them make a lil cash out of my purhcase since they get it for
lower than the price they sell it to me.. and he says "oh, what part do you
need again?" bastard!

2)service writer....
I walk up to him and talk to him about my 17 degrees of advance and how i got
that figure from a snap on scan tool. (i mentioned something about a TSB on
it) but to warn other people. TSBs ARE NOT recalls! I don't know how many
of you don't know this, but i just wanted everyone to know. So. What gives
with a problem they post to the general public that might be wrong with out
trucks. YET.. they don't have the dignity to fix it? I know the double
rolling timing chain is only 67.?? thru the same dealer, but some people
don't have the know how to install this part, and don't have an extra "Bill
Gate's check book sitting around" so.. how do TSBs eventually become
recalls?
