My bud was running a low compression motor and insisted on running lotsa
high octane race fuel, Eventually it started to ping so guess what, he put
higher octane in. retarded the timing more unburned deposits. All the
unburned deposits built up and the compression ratio was 2 points
higher(took a few months).
