Well I'm not gonna preach that one is more reliable than the other because
we all know that it's a matter of when the truck was built(monday morning
friday afternoon theory). I've had some problems with the toyota and I had
one problem with the dak (I can't blame the dak prob on the truck I did
something stupid) as far as the power issue it turned out to be a bigger
issue than I thought, the truck could not get out of it's own way. I was
using it for a work truck so I wasn't asking a whole lot from it either. I
had a 4x4 tacoma and it was almost scary to drive! It always felt top heavy
which I never experienced in my 4x4 dak(another work truck) the ride was
alot more comfortable in the dak and alot quieter. I tried to add sway bars
to the toy but it didn't help much. When I purchased the truck I had no
plans on towing with it but as I started getting into racing I tried to tow
a car to the track with it DON'T TRY IT. This was the scariest experience of
my life Iwas well below the recomender 3500 tow limit and the truck could
not handle it. it was all over the road and I could not stop. I don't know
what you are looking for in the truck but if you want any power or good
handling or towing capacity or comfort .....................stay away from
the Toyota
BTW I tow with the Dak on a regular basis and don't notice that I have a
trailer on the back.
