Well, you can skip 1st actually. I rarely use it. :) (easier to not accelerate into the car ahead of me if I start in 2nd)
You could learn to drive a manual easily. I'd had about 20 minutes of practice driving one when I picked up my Dak. After a week or two of pissing off other drivers, I figured it out. Now, I wouldn't own an automatic again!
