I think my cat is starting to fail also. Since Kansas doesn't have
emmissions, i think i'm gonna say to hell with the cat. Now. here's the
tricky part.. Will the computer go wacko if i take the cat off a 97+ obd2
truck???

<< I know this is a little late in regaurds to a reply, but someone recently
said they doubt the cat converter had failed on someones truck just because
it was a poor coverter. They said that they thought something else had to
have failed to cause the engine to run rich and fail the cat. Well, I have
to disagree. I had the cat in my truck crumble and clog at 21K miles. This
is one of the most commonly reported failures on the Ram list and several
people here have reported them failing as well. And this is on a mix of
modded and stock trucks. I think DC went to a junk converter for 97+ model
trucks. There have been too many of them failing in all parts of the country
and no one has said that the O2 sensor or anything else had failed too.
