Take it from me, a bad cat will definately cause a check engine light.
After my light came on, it seemed like the engine ran a little rough at idle
but it also seemed to have more power. When I asked the service department
about the possiblity of using a high-flo aftermarket cat, they immediately
said that would void my warranty.
After seeing the quality of service from my local Dodge service centers, I'm
not really worried about voiding the warranty. I think I'd get better
service out of local garages. But then again, I did spring for the extended
warranty, oh well.
