Vette Kicks Viper? I don't think so. These are the test results from Road
and Track Oct. 99 p.174

Viper GTS-R Vette
460 345 HP
4.2 4.8 0-60
12.5 13.6 1/4 mile
185 172 Top Speed
0.98 0.89 Skidpad (g-force before breaking traction in a
corner with 200 foot diameter)
65.3 64.5 Speed in Slalom
13 18.5 MPG (HEY! The Vette Kicks Ass Here!)

So, where is the Vette Kicking Ass besides gas mileage? No doubt it is a
nice auto. But kicks the Vipers ass. No.

Too bad the Viper will walk all over the Skyline and Vette and only cost
about $70000. The vette is just a "you get what you pay for" car. $45000 =
a step under the viper in performance and style. Plus everyone and their
brother already has a vette so it's like driving an escort....you see em
everywhere.....gets kinda boring after a while!!!

The Nissan Skyline GTR (R34) will do the 1/4 mile in 13.3 @ 103.7 and has
all wheel drive. But it does cost $89,000.

Dak content:
Has anybody running a MSD with an Accel coil and the MSD wiring harness
had a problem with the connection to the coil? I can't get mine to snap
into place and it keeps coming loose. Not a nice thing to happen after
midnight after waiting 3 hours in traffic.

My Vett (stock) will do 12.3 and top off at around 180mph (I personally have
seen 155). There is not a Jap wagon in the world that can pull that off,
expecially doing 85-95mph on a clover on/off-ramp. Vipers kick ass but not
like a Vette and that big GOOFY gas cap on the viper has to go -- go way far
away.
