Ya, the beetle turns heads too! But the vette has lost the look the viper
has. You used to see a vette and it would be like a king of sports cars.
Ya your head would turn as it drove by. And I'm sure heads turn as you
drive by today....only problem is they're turning again and again as the
next three vette's go by behind you! You haven't seen one like yours?????
What does yours have the super dooper decoder ring hanging from the mirror??
A vette is a vette. Whether it's yellow, convertable, etc.. Just like the
viper is a viper. You're gonna take a longer look at that viper though.
All I'm saying is vette's have taken second place since the viper was made.
They need some more speed and power out there to survive. Oh well not my
problem.

The thing with the Vette is it comes in a few 10ths under the viper in the
1/4 mile and not to far down on the top end (which most people will never
see 187mph)but mine cost $50,000 -- sorry but I got all the bells-n-whistles
-- heads up display, telescopic steering wheel, convertible, traction
control -- you know Cadillac style Vette -- you cannot get that in a Viper.
Also the "power curve" on the vette (say from 60mph - top speed) easily
matches the Viper and will crush Jap wagons. As for Vettes being a
dime-a-dozen I have only seen 1 like mine. Well I guess we could fight about
this all day -- It just comes down to who likes what -- one thing I can say
is with the top down and cruising the streets it turns just about everyone's
heads.

I have a problem with wrapping my ass in fiberglass. But I'm a little
curious of which vette does 12.3 stock. I've personally mopped up quite a
few vettes at the track. They all were in the low 13's. And as far as I knew
they were the LZ-1 or LT-1 or whatever chebby is calling the 350 these days.
While I don't run an import I still have to give them credit It takes alot
to put a FWD four banger into the 9's. The fastest FWD mopar I've ever seen
run is the NX neon (he didn't run that good that day but suposedly runs
10's) and and a couple of 2.2 turbos running 11's. The only thing I can say
for the mopars is they can be driven in and don't need a trailer to get to
the track I've never seen an 11 second h**da do that.

My Vett (stock) will do 12.3 and top off at around 180mph (I personally have
seen 155). There is not a Jap wagon in the world that can pull that off,
expecially doing 85-95mph on a clover on/off-ramp. Vipers kick ass but not
like a Vette and that big GOOFY gas cap on the viper has to go -- go way far
away.
