When I burn mine, they get all gooey... great for ttraction tho =)

It doesnt wear them out alomost at all. the amount you wear off is like a hard stop. Mostly the brake holding goes to the front wheels. Normally the front brakes do 60 % of the stopping and thr rears follow. When i do my burn outs i use the power braking technique. I also use bleach or liquid soap. For the lots of smoke effect. On the track obviously its a quick burn out to clean the tires and than i stage. Mostly people do burnouts for the fun of it. the benefits of smoking yoiur tires are none. the normal Dot tires ( unless cheater slicks) dont respond too well to the burn out. For most part a quick spin to clean the surface of pebbles or dirt is good enough.
I used to take my 1989 GMC sierra to the track and do these huge burn outs and all i basically did was buy new tires all the time. There was no benefit to burning out just doing it for show
