i dont think youll hurt yourself. Its like a post i read about some moron who
had a lexus or acura revved the shit out of it and than dropped it in drive.
blew the tranny in a sec. You can be like mike and do it too. i still say to
take it to the dealer and speak to the managers. I heard nothing but horror
stories about the dakotas. weird how it got this great review but they seem
to break down a lot. I havent had any problems with mine but than again it
only has 3300 miles on it. on the 4.7 trannies is there a solenoid that makes
a small niose as you shift in reverse or drive? mine does it and i took it to
the dealer and they said its a solenoid that does that. I tend not to trust
dealers as i used to work ofr one and i know those idiots lie. Word of
advice. dont believe the service guys they lie just to keep you away from the
dealer. what happens is they push easy fixes in front of your car and tell
you parts are uavailable or being ordered from Siberia and they are coming
on a dog sled. so do waht i do walk in and demand to see the work that was
done on the car. If they know you as a no nonsense customer they will do the
work to get you out of their hair. I hate dealers
