I had this problem in my 92 Dak. Theres an old trick to get the 195 to run
more efficiently and a little cooler. Drill a 1/8" hole in the t-stat plate.
I never fully understood the logic behind it, I guess it takes some of the
pressure off the spring plate allowing it to respond better to
temp.differences. All I know is that it works. At least it did for my 92
