Just incase this information has not been sent...
I just got back from CO. A guy there told me that his 1998 Dodge had this
ping problem. It ended up to be a "leaky" intake manifold gasket. He said
that it was sucking a small amount of oil. From what he told me DODGE knows
about this issue After they replaced the gasket all is well on his truck.
Hope this helps someone..

Yup...speed density alright and the same on the 3.9, 5.2, and 5.9. Not sure
about the 4.7 though.

Geesh. Need to get my FSM. I'm new to Dodge's half-ass way of doing
things. No knock sensor huh? Interesting. It's speed density
correct? Same on all models and engine sizes on the GenIII Daks?
