Bike Racks/Carrying Techniques

I am just curious if I have any fellow bicyclists on the list, and if so,
how do you transport your bike(s) in your Dak? My current setup is this: A
piece of 2"x4", cut to snugly fit in the bed, and then I put a 70pound bag
of sand over it, to hold it down. I bolted 2 'spindle mounts' onto the
2"x4". It works and works good for me, plus it only ran me about $40.
However, my brother and dad often go with me and each of them has a $1500
mountain bike, Specialized FSR Pro and a Trek Y-Glide. Sometimes they get
picky about how I carry my bike, but it is only worth $500 and it is beat
up, so I could care less how I transport it. They are willing to pitch in a
buy something 'better'. Anyuse the the bike carriers which mount into a 2"
hitch opening? I would like to be able to carry upto 3 bikes total, but 90%
of the time will only carry 2 bikes. I do have a crossbed toolbox, if it
matters. Any suggestions??Thanks,
Kyle
