That may be true BUT:
People write software.
People sell software.
people buy software.
People use software.
The fact that *people* have accepted that which MS has done to them,
their businesses, and their wallets, grinning all the while and saying
"thank you sir may I have another", is a social trend. The fact that
people have been trained my Microsoft to accept poor quality software
and continually pay more than it's worth is a social trend. Even the
notoriously "buggy" English auto makers have had to improve the
reliabilty and maintainability of their cars to stay competetive. That
people have allowed MS to NOT improve the same in their products, and
yet still keep buying it, is a social trend, IMO.
