It's coming your way too, Flip... Just a matter of time. Yeah, they check
everything (including parking tickets, outstanding fines, DMV holds, etc!) and
emissions under load with a sort of a dyno. setup. If it's a new vehicle you
get 2 years (I think) in Mass. before you have to do the full-bore testing...
Still have to pay the new rates even though they don't do anything, the
bastards! To add insult to injury, the inspection sticker itself is the most
God awful looking thing you have ever seen! At least in Mass they are anyway.
Great big dot matrix POS they stick on your windshield that looks like crap.

Now y'all got me curious. Does EVERYBODY have to get these
inspections? Cause we don't have 'em in Oregon. Just the DEQ sniffer
test every 2 yrs if you live in a metropolitan area, I think they are
supposed to look if your emissions stuff is still there, but the
sniffer is all they really care about. But you guys seem to have them
checking all kinds of stuff- lights and so on.
