Well I just called around for inner/outer tie rod ends and upper/lower ball
joints...........and am kind of shocked at prices. I wanted either Moog or
Perfect Circle parts......so I guess maybe this is why the high(er) cost.
Both come with lifetime warranty. I have a Perfect Circle Pitman Arm and
Perfect Circle Idler Arm, so I may just to with the Perfect Circle parts,
which are made by Dana. Perfect Circle parts are cheaper also. Here are the
best prices I was able to find:
-Upper Ball Joints:
*Moog=$42
*Perfect Circle=$22
-Lower Ball Joints:
*Moog=$59
*Perfect Circle=$32
-Inner Tie Rod:
*Moog=$49
*Perfect Circle=$47
-Outer Tie Rod:
*Moog=$49
*Perfect Circle=$48
So if I go the Moog route cost would be $398, for doing both sides of the
truck. If I get all Perfect Circle parts, cost will be $298, for doing both
sides of the truck. So I would be able to save $100 by using the Dana parts.
There is another option, parts which Autozone carry, called something like
McGuire North(or something like this) which also has a lifetime warranty. I
just have never heard of this name. Total cost if I buy these parts would be
$272, for doing both sides of the truck. I figure for the additional $26, I
would buy the parts made by the namebrand I know, Dana(Perfect Circle in
this case). It is still alot more than I initially thought, but I figure I
should never have to do the front end steering parts again, since the
factory ones have lasted 121,000 miles. Thanks for the info,
