Hey, No flames from me , I respect your opinion, thanks for wording it as
such!!
just wondering how can a "Bone stock RT" have a converter???
You can run any MPH you want, when it come to bracket racing, if you can't
run the ET you won't win!
I'd just ask you to take a look at the CC RT's on the list and look at their
Mods and their ET's. Terry's truck runs 14.7's, his truck is about 200
pounds heavier than my Reg Cab. So that is about .20 sec. (about) so if ya
subtract that off of his ET, you get 14.5's, pretty interesting, but also,
he dynoed at 213 hp and 302 TQ!
which was within 5 hp of my 4.7L and 17 ft.lbs more. even more interesting
is, he runs about the same short time 1.96. My 1/8 mile times are a little
quicker, I run 9.20's, he runs 9.30's.
Now I know people are going to read this and say, "well you're comparing CC
to RC"
But I'm just responding to Kuk's CC to RC evaluation!!
all I'm getting at is the little 287 will and does hold it's own against the
big ole 360! Now, to Terry's defense cause he hasn't chimed in here, I was
using numbers about his truck off of the DML profile, so he may have some
more current numbers??
Not pick'n on ya Terry!! I know Terry has a since of humor, and as I have
told him before a sweet truck!

I am inclined to agree with Terry then....
A 4.7 Durango with the 46RE and 3.92 suregrip will have a slower ET than
A 5.9 Durango with the 46RE and 3.92 suregrip. (Both with slicks)

Your numbers are for a Regular cab, his are for a Club cab, not Durango
numbers.
Don't ever think quarter mile racing isn't about mph. The higher your mph
the lower your ET will be with proper traction and gearing. That why I alway
ingore ET's when building someones motor up, I want to see the power it
makes and the mph tells me that. Once they are at the power level they are
satisfied with then I tell them to get traction and proper gearing to drop
the ET. Look at the Neon's running mid to low 13teens and only posting 96-97
mph. My 95 was low 13 sec material with proper traction and gears (and
different driver than me). So, I think with a set of slicks, a correct
converter and a bone stock
Club Cab R/T would have no problem taking a RC 4.7 NV-3500 in the ET arena.
No flames please. Just my humble
two cents....
Kuk
