Bernd,

Items at issue:

) Right side upper control arm bushings wasted - they point to the JBA
headers. List member Mike Burgess just completed a road trip using
temperature monitoring strips and found no excessive heat being put to
the bushing from the headers.

2) Noise in differential. Suspect improper ring and pinion setup. Been
there from day 1. They have service records with my complaint on file to
prove it. They claim the suspension modifications(it's lowered) are to
blame. Funny, the excuse was different at 500 miles. They said then that
all Club Cab Daks make that noise which is BS. They were going to
replace bearings and potentially the ring and pinion as of last
Wednesday. Once the Service Mgr. got involved because I wasn't happy
they missed a delivery date and wouldn't respond to phone calls
explaining why, he refused all service and voided the warranty.

3) Front brake caliper bolt cross threaded from the factory. Since there
is a TSB on this specifically on '98 model trucks I suspect I'm not the
only one who has seen it. I supplied them the old bolts(I put new ones
in when I swapped rotors and pads). They say there is no way to verify
that I didn't strip them during re-installation. I asked them if they
looked at the bolts I left for reference. No reply. It's a safety
liability at this point. In the event of a catastrophic brake failure
that could be pinned to that issue, I could see myself owning a chunk of
that dealership based on negligence.

4) High speed driveline vibration - another TSB listed for this. This
one just got lost in the mess. It had already gone to hell in a hand
basket before we even got here, though I think they are still insisting
all late model DAKS have this problem and there is nothing they could
do.

That's in in a nutshell. Should have an attorney lined up by day's end.
Once I finish the third party diagnostics to show the lowering job &
headers are not at fault, I'll be set to go. Gonna get ugly. Curiously,
neither Chris Johnson(serive writer) or Bruce Craft(middle mgr) had ever
heard of the Magnuson-Moss Act, and I question whether Jim Garcia has
based on his response. You'd think this is the first time someone has
had an issue over after market parts with these guys.

I find it even more hippocritical if they are racing enthusiasts and are
giving me grief. During this whole process they have a nice looking
lowered 2000 Quad Cab sitting in the showroom. Guess they're selling
vehicles with warranties voided right off the showroom floor.

Bob
