Andy,
An LSD will help increase traction in any type of road condition over an
open differential. You dont have, or atleast your Dak didnt come from the
factory with any traction device in front diff. Factory rear LSD was
available and is a very common add on part around here. I am really really
fairly positive that your 99 Dak has a Dana35(35C maybe) front diff and you
most definately can stuff a LSD up front, and rear LSD will suffice for most
mild trials. Front and rear LSD/locker would be really sweet, but only if
you use your Dak offroad often. Running a rear LSD/locker doesnt require
anything special in the front diff.
