Well, Randall for a '94 you can get an R/T package (or get the parts
separately) from Mopar Performance. The catalog lists five (5) items for
the Mopar Performance R/T (and it is different than an R/T from the
factory). The parts are : (1.) K&N Filter, (2.) MP headers, (3.) Low
restriction catback exhaust, (4.) MP Cam and (5.) MP SBEC.

When I went to a dealership to see an R/T, I was quite surprised to learn
that it didn't contain most of the above while it did have many other
desirable modifications. You can make *most* of the modifications found
on a factory R/T to your '94 except the factory lowering of the vehicle.
The suspension on the Gen IIIs is different from the Gen IIs. There used
to be a member on the list who claimed to have 4/5 of an R/T back before
the factory version came out.

Bottom line: you either buy a factory optioned R/T with its specs or you
can make a Mopar performance R/T based upon the package offered. If you
make your vehicle a MP R/T will people think it's an R/T? Probably not
since that now designates a factory package. Will you like the
performance? Probabaly so. What it comes down to is what you want. If you
put the MP R/T package on your truck, in my opinion, you have every right
to call your vehicle a Dakota R/T. Can you get on the Dakota R/T list? I
would doubt it since you're not a *factory* R/T, the Gen III R/T, but
that's not my call.

Oh, yeah, R/T stands for "Road and Track," a late sixties designation of
Dodge muscle.

Richard in San Antonio
