Time for shocking scoop:
The next R/T will drop the 5.9 from its engine option and go with a
aspirated 265HP/290TQ mild 4.7L for 2002. I hoping that the rims are moved
to the 18"s versus the current 17". Sorry to disappoint anyone intention of
looking forward to the next R/T release. This completely saddens me to see
a wimpy motor in a R/T version.
However, the scarcest thing now is that Chevy will release the next S-10
frame SSR vehicle in the 2003 model year with a 300HP variant of the Vortec
5.3 not the 6.0 version. But then I could be wrong on the engine selection.
This maybe the fastest, most powerful small-mid size truck in 2003.
The Charger will be release in 2004 model year and will have the HO 4.7 and
optional 5.7 for the R/T variant. So! This maybe my replacement unless DC
can come up with a scary truck not a wimpy one.
