V-teck Rear tailight covers

I have a set of the Vteck Tailight covers. They are black somewhat glossy
plastic.

Has anyone had any luck 'Painting' these, and if so HOW?? The plain plastic
seems as though it will scratch VERY easily, so I may simply go with black
as the final color...........or maybe the body color.
