RE: Anybody else? 4.7L cannot hold steady idle when warm?

I don't think it's a lemon, Even though our Lemon Law allows for replacement
after only two unsuccessful attempts to repair a major problem. I count
this as a major problem.

The reason I don't think it's a lemon is THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. It would
be a lemon if they can't fix it. I am looking for data with which to go to
Chrysler. I would like to point out to Chrysler that it was easy for Ford
to say, "Hey it wasn't us it was the tires." However this truck only has
4000 miles on it and it's been to the dealer 3 times for the same problem.

Lemon laws are incredibly tough to get satisfaction on. After reading the
process for my state it was obvious I will need to hire a lawyer. In stead,
given the hysteria over the Ford / Firestone tire debacle, I am going to
send letter to the elected officials who are trying to get re-elected. Can
you spell I play dirty?

So I was looking for ammunition.
Such as "In a 24 hour period I received X number of replies telling me they
have the same problem. Obviously it's not just a single car it's a design
flaw."

Between you me and the fence post it kind of pisses me off that I have to
act like this. Why can't I just take it in and have the dealer fix it?
Money, it's cheeper for them to hope I will go away, too bad for them I am a
real bastard!

Scott ( who loves his Blue DAK, but hates it idle.)

And thank you to the creator of this list.

<< Hi all.
I have a quick question. I have a 4.7 that still will not hold a steady
idle when coasting to a stop. Manual transmission, in neutral, foot off the
clutch engine warm, the speed will vary from 400 up to 1000 RPM at times.
Not just up and down; but up and down like a roller coaster.

Also the engine has stalled in a couple of these down events. Yep engine
just dies, now that's a fun one to watch the 105 pound wife try to steer
when the power steering dies. :) NOT!

Been to the dealer 3 times, and their answers were.
#1, We don't know.
#2, We don't know, lets put a testing device on it.
#3, This is probably just the normal operation of the vehicle.

So here comes the 64,000 byte question. Does anybody else have this
problem? Because if they do I would like to write a letter to Chrysler and
point out that it could be a real problem for them in the future should
these trucks just quit like mine does. Or am I just a lucky one and found
the only dealer in North America that seems unable to trouble shoot a
problem or unwilling.

You can email me directly at mailto:pilot.dog@gte.net I would be very
interested in hearing from you all.

Over all I love the truck it just has this annoying habbit of occasionally
dieing.

Shhhh Sleeping Newfie.
Please don't trip over the watchdogs!"
