I have the MP cam/lifters and beefed up valvetrain components plus the 1.6 AL.
roller rockers on. I have reved to 6000 on the track during upshift problems
with the Transgo quite a few times. I had the dyno people take their testing
up to 5600 rpm on the dyno on the two times that it was dynoed.

In short, it will rev to 6000 safely (no valve floats, bent pushrods, crushed
lifters) but I am running out of breath by 5500 rpms (that with the MPI).
I think I'm safe to say that, with good track and weather conditions AND
the capability of manually doing upshifts at 5500 rpm, I can probably
hit high 14.6xs at least. The 14.73 and (subsequently 14.76) that I've
reached
were done in June of this year when temps were in low 70s and humidity at
65-70%.

Until I can zero in on the cause of the shift problem, I have been using the
following shift pattern on the track ... pedal to medal (p to m), 1-2 shift
@ 4800,
lift, p to m, 2-3 shift @ 5200, and maybe lift and p to m. When I time the
lift
and p to m right, I sound like I'm "double-clutching" (didn't know you
could do
that with an auto, eh?) going down the track i.e. remember the movie Bullit
:-)
