Jason,
Normal tire aging does this. Don't worry about it unless you just bought
them. Look on the sidewall for the date code. Check it for when the tires
were manufactured. It is not unusual for tires to lay in a warehouse for a
year or two before being sold. If the tires weren't stored properly, the
compound may have started to deteriorate before being exposed to the
weather. Hope this helps.

Subject: DML: Tires cracking between tread blocks

I noticed this morning that my tires are developing cracks in the
"valleys" between the tread blocks. Some of the cracks are pretty
good, the rubber is visibly separating. I've never seen this before,
is it serious? What causes it? Wrong pressure, crappy tires, bad
luck?

They're Pirelli Scorpion A/T in LT235/75R15. Only 30,000 miles on
them.

Thanks.
