I'm sorry, but I'm a father. I've been a kid and have done many stupid
things, some that almost could have killed me and some that could have
killed a loved one. Everyone has 20-20 hindsight, myself included. I'm
older now and realize a lot of things today that I didn't 30 some odd years
ago. I can't say as I blame your father for being paranoid. If he didn't
get paranoid is when I would worry. You can't put yourself in his shoes
until you have children of your own. If he didn't love you and worry about
losing you, you'd probably still be driving today. You need to take to real
hard look at the situation your dad is in. You've been involved with a
vehicle where someone has perished and now you get a speeding ticket for 87
mph. I'm afraid I side with your father. When would I give you your keys
back? When you can prove to me you're responsible enough to be behind the
wheel again. I'm not trying to be self-righteous. I've seen too many
accidents, too many deaths, things that should never have happened. Sorry!
