Tom,
I live in San Antonio and it is illegal to put guns in a rifle rack at any
window. It's called "public display of a weapon". Also, why would you want
to advertize to the thugs that you have guns to steal so they follow you
home and rip you off later,crowd ? I think the overhead is your best bet or
like I do- behind the seat covered up so nobody knows they are there. My .02
