You know what's better than the steering wheel with all the radio controls?
I have a mobile setup for my Qualcomm QCP 860 cell phone. It's
voice-activated and voice commands, hands-free. It has it's own speaker,
which, by the way, mutes the radio speakers when there's a call going on.
If there's other people in the vehicle and you have a private call, you can
take the phone out of the cradle and speak privately using the phone.
Another advantage: the mobile system uses an external antenna (on top of
the truck). This allows the phone to have a 5-watt pickup, which is double
what the phone normally has. My phone is through Verizon Wireless. The
mobile unit was $200 installed.
