A few freeze/thaw cycles should NOT do this to an engine. My truck is
perpetually outside (park outside at work, and my garage at my apartment
is too small) and I've had no problems. I've started it at sub-zero
temperatures and had many fall/spring nights sub-freezing but followed
by a warm morning.
