I agree. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way. I didn't think there was
alot of hot air in there when going down the road. After several direct
measurements - I found that it is a concern during say the summer months. Some
say a good rule of thumb is that you loose 1 percent horsepower for every 10
degrees hotter air. When I directly measured over 40 degrees difference during
stop-and-go driving (late summer) - for a 300 horse motor - that would be 12hp =
significant.
