I don't think this is true. The MR light is only turned on at
predetermined mileages. One of the items that are "required" to be
replaced is the EGR valve along with the O2 sensor, PCV, and Charcoal
Filter then the dealer will turn off the light with a computer. The Check
Engine light comes on with actual diagnostic faults.
