Heya Kevin,

I had the exact same thing happen on my '99 V8 on 2 separate occasions.
Apparently the rubber plugs the factory uses have the tendency to swell with
age. My truck has rubber plugs on both sides of the beer barrel manifold,
and I've replaced both plugs w/ new ones from my local auto parts store.
The new ones fit on there snug like they're supposed to, and a small box of
6 of them cost something like $0.60.

As for the stalling problem, I'd check the IAC motor and port. Make sure
its port in the throttle body is clean as junk in there has the tendency to
cause idle problems (I've had them before too!). Clean out the throttle
body w/ carb. cleaner while you're there!

Anyway hope this helps...let me know if you need to know anything else.
