Can't you go to traffic school? If you can, it'll be the fee for the ticket
plus the processing fee for traffic school from the court and then the
traffic school itself. Otherwise, it's the fee for the ticket plus raised
insurance payments for a long time. I'd be willing to bet the ticket itself
is at least $300, probably more. My son just said that if you've had
another moving violation in the past 18 months and already used your traffic
school, you can opt to go before the judge this time and plead for mercy and
another traffic school. I believe this second traffic school within 18
months (if the judge is nice and allows it) is at least a 12-hour class. I
believe traffic school fees are at least $100 by themselves. I don't
remember what people have been through anymore. I haven't had a ticket for
over 30 years....knock on wood...;-)
