I would check the belly pan gasket first, that could cause it to smoke. If
that's ok, I would check the compression and valve guides. If you lost
compression then it would run like a four cylinder... As far as it revving
and hunting for gears at certain speeds. I would adjust the TB cable to the
tranny.. Or have your tps looked at.. Mine had a dead spot.. I replaced it
and the tranny shifts fine now...
