Hey folks.
New to the list, just thought I'd say howdy.
I just bought a pristine condition '99 Dakota Extended Cab. It's a beauty,
and it's far nicer for ride, control, braking, power etc than the '98 F-150
that I just ..... "unleased".
Bright Yellow (Solar yellow?)
V-8 5.2L,
5 speed Manual, 3.55 rear end, 4 x 4
38,500 Kilometres (Yeah, I'm Canadian!)
Former owner only had 1 major problem, the power steering pump needed
replacing. (At least that 's what he told me)
Been diggin' a bit through the archives, but still got questions.
First question (which may have already been asked/answered a million times
before I got here):
As a new "to the truck" owner, would it be worthwile disconnecting the
battery to resest the computer? I'd like to get the computer used to my
shifting patterns, because at 83¢ a litre I want to get the best mileage I
can! And if I recall correctly I read that it only needs to be disconnected
for about 15 minutes, right?
.
Thanks,
from the land of the midnight sun,
J. Craig Moddle
