I guess I could have expounded on that. 689 rpm = 689 X 31 X pi (3.14159) =
67101.22 inches. There are 63360 inches per mile. That means you actually
travel 3741.22 inches more than is indicated by your vehicle. That's a 5.9%
difference.

Subject: DML: Revolutions per mile, CABS setting? Ron Wong?

Ron seems to know a lot about the CABS settings in the PCMs, so I'll
direct this question to him.

Do you know the revolutions per mile for the 31" setting? Which I was
told was the highest setting when I had my PCM flashed recently. I
suppose by multiplying that number by 1" and converting it to tenths of
a mile I could get a more accurate mileage reading. If every mile is
actually 1.2 miles I can add 40 miles to what I get out of a tank,
according to the odo & computer, hypothetically. Currently, doing the
math between the trip odo and the amount of fuel I add each fill up, I
average around 9.5 which is 90% city. Highway it'll average 16. Since
I'm racking up an extra inch per revolution I'm thinking it's more like
12/18, that's probably wishful thinking though.

Thanks
