theory to lower prices, yet at the same time, by having everybody buy
from the same stations you are creating what for all practical
purposes is a local monopoly. Also, this idea doesn't take into
consideration the greed of the oil companies. Since the name brand
stations are usually the most expensive, all you're telling the oil
companies is, "We don't care how high your prices are, we're buying
from you anyway." The way to lower prices is to use less fuel. But, as
President Cheney keeps telling us, that's not compatible with our
lifestyle.
