Re: <offtopic> Oil Companies Profit

Finding oil, drilling for oil, storing, and shipping oil are not cheap! Do you know what kind of mileage a tanker gets? And don't forget cleanup costs; not all spills are from human error, most from storms etc. Then there is the massive amounts of
regulatory paperwork.

Are they being accused of price fixing? That would be the only way to maintain a margin like that in the wholesale market. These companies are highly competitive and have never shied away from a price war if they thought they could outsell the
competitor. What could possibly sustain a .53/gal margin in a market like that?

Criminy, I see WATER for retail sale at .99/liter! Now there is something to scratch your head over.

The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic.
He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus
more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen
turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.
