Opinions on Hypertech Modules

I have heard many DMLers opine that the Jet Chip 2 doesn't make any
significant HP with the 5.2 and 5.9 L engines.
Well, what is the collected wisdom of DML regarding the Hypertech Module?
Haven't heard much about it and thought about looking into it, but would
like a position when I start. Thanks,
