No, as a matter of fact, I'm not. I think this system is too old to have an
ATA controller in it unless I buy one on a PCI card. It should be fine this
way. It's still working at 66 Mbps transfer rate. That's good enough for
this system. It's just for testing anyway. The system I'm on typing this
e-mail has ATA 100 on the motherboard.

Okay, PC buffs. I am trying to install a new Maxtor Diamondmax VL 30 GB
hard drive in an old PC of mine. This old PC is a P-II 333 mhz.
Motherboard has the 440 LX chipset on it.
When I boot up I get the following error:

Function: 00
Why?
