Bingo!!! it's all new development right now. Either find a new transmission that's able to handle the load, say from Borg-Warner or something, or cram the tranny from the Ram in to the Dakota platform. The Dodge boys had a slight excuse when the R/T first came out, the 360 had been put in the Durango first with only an automatic behind it, but this is all new. If they would find a way to put a 5-speed in there and do some decent suspension work to the thing the R/T would suddenly be playing with SVT Cobra Pukestangs. That would be truly cool form a little truck. :D
