That is true, but the DML newsgroups aren't distributed as a Usenet feed;
they are private newsgroups where the messages stay on the server and
a usercode and password is required to access them. (They were set up as
private for this very reason.) Granted, there isn't anything stopping anyone
from signing up as a normal user and collecting e-mail addresses (this is
true for any mailing list as well), but generally they are looking for an
easier source; they don't want the hassle of looking up passwords,
subscribing, etc. for a few hundred or a thousand addresses when they can
get millions from Usenet.
