Key point here:
The charging system is also controlled by battery temp. If the battery
is warmer, it will charge slightly more than when it's cold.

Subject: DML: Charging system info.
Hey yall,
I was wondering if anyone has a good wag on what the charging voltage is
for a 98 Dak, V8. I was working at wal mart today and had one of the
guys balance the tires, and check the charging system. It would pull
13.56 with no load and 13.76 with a load on it. And has anyone rebuilt
their own starters/alternators?? secondly..i know the voltage regulator
is in the PCM. Any other ideas on how to test the alternator? ~ Paul
