Air Intake Question...

I have a 99 V6 4x4 and was wondering what the best type of Air intake to
get. I was planning on making a homemade system.

I like the idea of Jason Yates setup, but was wondering if the round cleaner
that some people have is better. I would like to keep things close to stock
(not tearing things up, cutting, etc...).

Does anyone have a materials list for either of these setups and directions?
