New owner intro and questions

Hello fellow DAKkers...

I've been subscribed to the List for a bit now and thought I'd introduce
myself, along with asking a couple questions.

My name's Mike Bender and I recently purchased a '01 CC 4x4 4.7L. I'm a
long-time Dodge owner- born and raised. My Dad just recently retired from
Chrysler after 34 years of service at the Belvidere, IL plant.

Previous list of vehicles:
'98 Durango 5.2L
'93 Shadow ES conv. 3.0 V6
'90 Eagle Talon TSI AWD
'83 (yes, '83) Shelby Charger- 1 of 50, still wish I had that one...
'70 Dart Swinger

I've also got 5 motorcycles, including a '99 Suzuki SV650 that I
roadrace. I'm pretty good mechanically, but I'll be the first to admit
that I've not done any major automotive work since '88 when my Dad and I
rebuilt my Shelby's motor. And bikes are quite a bit different than cars...

This brings me to the first of my questions...I've been paying attention to
some of the mods which you gentlemen (and ladies) have done to your Daks,
but most of you own the 5.2 and 5.9L motors. I've not seen many mods
available yet for the 4.7L. Since I bought this one (I leased the
Durango), I've decided to hop it up a bit. I even bought the MP catalog,
but that seems to be pretty worthless for the 4.7L.

I think I'd like to start with a K&N FIPK, but I called them and there's
not one available yet. They told me about 2 more months. Can the 5.2 kit
be modified to fit the 4.7? I noticed the TB Hat appears to be quite a bit
different.

Next is exhaust. It seems the preference is for FlowMaster. I'd like some
recommendations if you don't mind, along with some specifics about
installation and such.

Being a racer, I'm not afraid to spend a little extra to get good
performance, so I'd like some good suggestions from you guys. So far I'm
quite impressed with the motor, but it definitely pulls quite a bit
differently than the 5.2L did in the Durango. Can I realistically expect
another 100hp without mods like a SC?

Thanks, Mike
