Why do you call this limiting? The ballistics of the .40 S&W are almost
identical to that of the .45, but in a smaller round so that you can get
more of them in a clip. Plus the guns that use the .40 have been designed
from the ground up to feed jacketed hollow point, so there's no jamming like
on most of the pistols designed for the .45 ACP.
