gas mileage/ 1998 Dakota 5.2 L

I just bought a '98 Dakota 4x4 w/ the 5.2 L V8. My question is about fuel
economy with this truck. Seems like I get about 12 miles per gallon around
town and 18 on the highway. Is this normal? It seems a bit low to me...

Any other owners out there care to comment on their mileage? If my numbers
seem low, any suggestions to improve them (I don't drive around with the
throttle floored or anything; this is "normal" acceleration/driving.)
